Meet Laura

For over 15 years I have focused my career on providing hope and healing to clients who have experienced trauma or loss. Growing up in a family of social workers, I learned early on the importance of listening intently and providing support. I have utilized these skills in many different settings including Domestic Violence Shelters, Child Advocacy Centers, the Foster Care System and a Family Assessment Clinic. My dream has always been to open a private practice specializing in trauma, reproductive health, infertility, and pregnancy loss where clients can find the strength to share their stories and find healing through this process.

While I now call Ann Arbor my home, I have had the pleasure of working in many different cities in the United States including New York City, Washington DC and Charleston, SC. Living in all of these places has provided me with unique life experiences, and has allowed me to be trained by some of the most brilliant minds in the field. I am trained in a number of evidence-based treatments including:

  • Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT)

  • Risk Reduction through Family Therapy

  • Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing

While living in Charleston I was introduced to TF-CBT and have since been trained as a supervisor of TF-CBT by the developer, Dr. Tony Mannarino. I have testified in Court as an expert witness in the area of trauma, provided training to fellow therapists on trauma, and appeared on the news in a segment on trauma. I have made trauma focused therapy my life’s calling, and I want my clients to feel they are in capable hands.

I am excited to include reproductive health and fertility counseling as an area of specialty and have found my trauma training imperative to help those struggling with infertility and pregnancy loss. I completed a post graduate fertility counseling course and am a member of ASRM Mental Health Professional Group so that I can keep up to date on the latest research and supports. I also conduct consultations for gamete and embryo donation as indicated by ASRM guidelines.

After a long fertility journey, my husband and I expanded our family and have two young sons. When I’m not working, you can find me baking cookies, reading novels or spending time outside.
